My FAVORITE day of the week (can you hear the sarcasm?). This Monday is a little easier because I spent a low-key, 24ish hours with my family this past weekend. I headed south Saturday afternoon after work and arrived in Florence around 5. Once I finally sat down, I just about passed out then and there. I felt really awful about it, but I asked Mom if she would mind if I went to sleep. So off to my bedroom I went! My sweet Mama and Daddy went to buy me groceries while I slept and then woke me up to dinner ready for me. After I ate, it wasn't long before I went back to bed.
Sunday morning, Mom let me sleep until a little after 8. We got ready and went to wake up Grandaddy before she left for Sunday School and I left for choir practice. It's a really good thing that I went home this weekend since the Cantata is on Palm Sunday, not Easter Sunday. I would have been quite disappointed to practice as much as I have and then miss the opportunity to sing with my friends.
After church, we ate lunch and then I took another nap. Before heading home, Mom and I went through some of the china I have inherited over the years and picked out some things for me to bring home. I think she's very happy that I now have a place to store all the things she's kept for me for years!
Before I knew it, it was after 5 and I had to head back to Nashville. I talked with my uncle for most of the drive, as is our Sunday-driving-back-home ritual. It definitely makes the drive go faster. Once I got home, I unpacked and did some cleaning for the week. I can't stand to live in a messy house and some things were getting on my last nerve! I'm becoming more and more OCD every day! :)
Anyway, this is going to be an extremely long week, but I'm feeling a little more refreshed after some R&R and time with family and friends. I think a trip home was just what the doctor ordered to save my sanity. Only four more Mondays left and my third busy season will be behind me. It can't come soon enough!
