Well, we can rule out 1, 6 and 7 immediately. Although I like a good glass of wine, there isn't enough time after getting home, but before going to sleep. Number 6 is a no since I don't do anything besides sit at my desk and deliver tax returns to managers and partners. Number 7 is a no because...well, eww. Number 7 will never be a possibility.
Looking at the remaining possibilities, I can agree with every one. Number 2--I'm drinking more caffeine than ever before just to make it through the day. It's not going to be pretty when busy season is over and I try to go cold turkey. Number 3 is a part of the life of any CPA 13 days before the filing deadline after working 60+ hours/week for more weeks than can be counted. Number 4--wearing contacts for up to 20 hours a day is just not good especially when Nashville apparently has some of the highest pollen counts on record. Number 5 goes back to Number 3. I feel like this is redundant. Number 8 is unfortunately also part of the life of any CPA this close to a filing deadline. Every other phrase out of my collegues mouthes is "chargeable hours" or "get it out". I almost had a panic attack this morning when none of our copiers or printers worked and I couldn't find my stupid red pencil. It's funny now, but I almost started banging my head on my desk because I was so frustrated.
I'm hoping this twitch will be long gone by April 18th and won't become a nervous habit!
